Karl Robinson’s Mk Dons are the visitors to Keepmoat Stadium this weekend for the first fixture of the festive period.
Rovers will be looking to put the disappointment of defeat last weekend behind them and re-discover the form that propelled them to joint top of the league table.
With just two points separating the top five teams in the division, Mk Dons being the fifth positioned team, Christmas Day could see either one of those teams at the League One summit.
Rovers are currently just one point behind joint league leaders Tranmere Rovers and Brentford and victory over the Dons could potentially see Dean Saunders men top of the pile going into the Boxing Day fixture against Oldham Athletic.
Goals are on the agenda this weekend with none of the previous games against MK Dons having ever finished without the ball hitting the net at least once. Rovers average two goals per game against The Dons and will be looking to at least replicate that and net a fourth win overall against the opposition.
Although there have only been four games between the two clubs; Rovers boast an impressive record over the visitors who have managed to gain just one point against us.
There have been two away wins and one home victory for Rovers; the first fixture being the biggest win for Rovers with a three goals to nil scoreline. The last time Rovers met the Dons the game was incident packed and full of goals at the National Hockey Stadium.
After taking an early two-goal lead through Nick Fenton and Stephen Roberts, The Dons hit back with goals from Gary Smith and Aaron Wilbraham. Paul Heffernan stepped up to break home supporters hearts as he scored the winner with just four minutes remaining.
The last meeting between the sides saw Milton Keynes net their biggest single haul, of two goals against Rovers. In total The Dons have only scored four goals against Rovers in the four games played,
leaving Rovers looking to add to the eight times that they have put the ball past the opposition previously.
Last Meeting: 10/12/05 – National Hockey Stadium

Rovers – 3 – Nick Fenton, Stephen Roberts, Paul Heffernan
