Rovers will be full of confidence ahead of Saturday’s trip to the Lamex Stadium, as they head south on the back of three straight wins.
They also have the added incentive of knowing victory would be enough to move them to the top of Sky Bet League Two, although boss Darren Ferguson is keen to stress he is more interested in the gap to fourth.
History shows Stevenage as a happy hunting ground for Rovers, with victories in their last two league visits, although Boro edge out the overall head to head thanks to a 3-2 FA Cup win at the Keepmoat stadium the last time the two sides met.
TEAM NEWS: Andy Williams and Harry Middleton are available again. Long term absentees Luke McCullough, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair and Gary McSheffrey remain sidelined.
