Zain Westbrooke believes Rovers showed themselves to be capable of challenging at the top end of Sky Bet League Two despite coming away from MK Dons with a defeat.
Rovers were the more threatening side for the majority of the clash at Stadium:mk but came away empty handed after the 2-1 defeat.
And midfielder Westbrooke - who was excellent after coming off the bench at half time - insists eradicating the mistakes which led to the Dons’ two goals is a must if Rovers are going to shake off their tough start to the season.
“It was a tough game and we didn’t help ourselves at the start, gifting them two goals,” he said. “It’s something we’ve got to stop moving forward.
“In the second half we showed how we want to play and how we want to impose ourselves on games. If we keep showing that we’ll be right challenging at the end of the season.
“We need to start games like that.”
