The biggest bike ride in football just got bigger and it’s all in the name of charity.
Hold on to your helmets, because the biggest ride in football is about to get bigger for ProstateCancer UK’s annual football fundraiser.Dust off those bikes, get the lycra out and get your helmet on to represent Doncaster Rovers and Prostate Cancer UK’s Men United in Europe on 3rd-5th June, 2016 for a 145 mile cycle ride in conjunction with the Football League.
Formerly known as the London to Amsterdam cycle, 2016’s challenge is getting a makeover and will be even bigger!
In an exciting new development, the charity ride will consist of two start locations to become the all-inclusive Football to Amsterdam.
London or Yorkshire?
In 2016 there are two start locations for the ride:
Set off from Barnsley FC’s Oakwell Stadium
Or set off from the iconic Olympic Park in East London
Last year’s event was a sell out with more than 250 riders- including former international trio Terry Butcher, Matt Holland and Luther Blissett, together with Preston North End manager Simon Grayson.
In 2015, the collective Men united squad raised a whopping £350,000 for prostate Cancer UK, an amount which will go a long way in helping men who are affected by the disease and crucially pave the way for new research and treatments.

Registration is £149 which includes your over night ferry on Friday, your hotel for Saturday night in Amsterdam and your flight back home on Sunday morning after completing the ride. Each rider will pledge to raise £1000 in sponsorship to help fight back against a disease that affects one in eight men in the UK.

Communications Assistant Abi Rodwell represented Rovers in the ride last year and is already signed up to take part in 2016.
Describing the challenge as an unforgettable experience she said, "It was the best experience I've ever had and the feeling you get when you cross the finish line with a group of friends is overwhelming. We met so many different people from football clubs all over the country and Prostate Cancer couldn't have organised the event any better."
