The ‘Get Doncaster Walking’ programme will kick off in 2017 with the return of a sponsored Lakeside walk with local war hero Ben Parkinson MBE.
The 2017 Lakeside Ben Parkinson sponsored walk will take place on the morning of Saturday January 21 and is in partnership with Club Doncaster and supported by Pilgrim Bandits Charity.
Last year's event saw more than 200 local people joining Ben for a walk around the Lakeside lake and cheer him on as he returned back to the Keepmoat Stadium.
This year’s walk promises to be just as popular – and is still completely free of charge. It is a fantastic way to get fit, meet new friends and also raise valuable money for Ben’s Pilgrim Bandits charity, which will be collecting money on the day.
Thanks to the generosity of Club Doncaster, everyone who comes for the walk will get discounted entry to the Doncaster Rovers game versus Crewe Alexandra which kicks off at 3pm after the walk has finished.
The Rovers tickets will be £10 for adults, £5 seniors and 17-21 year-olds and just £1 for juniors! Just come to the walk, take a free flyer and present it at the ticket office for your discounted price.
