Grant enjoys strike

23 January 2017

Conor Grant enjoyed scoring the first goal of his loan spell at Doncaster Rovers.

The 21-year-old is back for a second spell with Rovers after spending five months with Darren Ferguson’s men last season.

Grant scored his first goal on his return to the club, against Crewe Alexandra in a 3-1 win at the Keepmoat Stadium, and the youngster is happy to be back.

“I’m finding my feet here, I’m really enjoying it and I know I will bring goals to the team,” said Grant

“I love it here, it’s a different feel from last year, we are winning games and that’s what you want to be doing.

“There is a lot of confidence in the team at the moment and there is also a lot of competition, so everyone has to be on their toes if they want to get into the team.”

He was part of a talented midfield, lining up alongside James Coppinger and Tommy Rowe, the latter also managing to find the back of the net in the victory over Crewe.

Grant is relishing the experience he can take from both players.

“They have got the knowhow and I take a lot of pointers from them each day in training,” he said.

“I have got to learn from them and hopefully pick stuff up from them, I think we link up well and hopefully I can get on the ball and make stuff happen.”
