Ferguson expecting tough test.

Darren Ferguson has urged his Rovers side to maintain their high standards as they travel to face Leyton Orient this weekend.

The O’s sit rock bottom of the EFL having won just two games since the turn of the year, but Ferguson is expecting a difficult encounter.

“They could be in a position where they see it as a game where they’ve got nothing to lose. They’re not in good form, we are, but there are no guarantees in this division,” he said.

“We had a meeting with the players and told the players that we can’t afford any complacency against Leyton Orient.

“We have to set our own standards, success can sometimes breed complacency but we’re determined to make sure that doesn’t come into our game.”

Rovers moved 16 points clear of the play-off places after the 3-1 win against Notts County and, with promotion firmly on the horizon, the manager says the Orient game is the only one that matters.

“A win on Saturday would put us onto 78 points, it is our biggest game of the season simply because it’s the one in front of us,” he added.

“If we get the three points against Leyton Orient then it sets us up for the Plymouth game the week after, and then providing we get the right results we’ll have a great chance.

“Maintaining our standards has been crucial for us this season, we’ve had some good performances and we’ve got a good group of players. I always want improvement and I think the players want that from each other.”
