Kit will celebrate partnership with British Heart Foundation
Doncaster Rovers will wear a special edition kit, which will then be auctioned off to raise money for the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) life saving research, during Saturday’s game at Morecambe.The new shirt will be worn by Rovers players on Saturday 10 September for the Sky Bet League Two match as the home side’s design features red and black – meaning neither of Rovers’ home or away options can be used.
Stoneacre, club partners, have kindly donated their space on the back of the new shirts to the BHF and the new kit features the charity’s logo and a healthy heartbeat design to celebrate the year-long partnership.
After the game, the players will sign each shirt before auctioning them off and the money raised will go towards the BHF’s life saving research into heart and circulatory disease.
Gavin Baldwin, Doncaster Rovers’ Chief Executive, said: "Everyone has worked so hard to make the BHF logo appearing on our new kit a reality and it’s great to be able to find new innovative ways of supporting our charity partnership with the BHF.
"FBT, our kit suppliers, have been great at turning around the product at such short notice, and allowing us to use a design which supports the British Heart Foundation while also retaining links to our proud history."
Lauren Mallinson, BHF Fundraising Manager for Doncaster, added: ‘"We’re incredibly grateful for all the support Club Doncaster and Doncaster Rovers have already given to the BHF and we’re so proud to be featuring on their third kit this weekend.
"Too many lives are lost to heart disease each year, and it’s only by funding vital research that we can beat it together. Thanks to Stoneacre, Club Doncaster, their players and supporters, we’re able to power even more research to help keep families together."
The year-long-partnership will raise funds for the BHF’s life saving research to find ground-breaking new ways to prevent, treat and cure heart and circulatory disease.
Around 654,000 people are living with heart and circulatory disease in Yorkshire and the Humber, with 38,700 heart patients in Doncaster alone. These devastating conditions claim the lives of more than 14,000 people in the Yorkshire region every year.
