Club acquire non league gem after impressive trial.
Rovers have today swooped to sign non-league protégé Alfie Beestin on an initial one year contract with the option to extend for a further year.
The 18 year old joins Rovers having impressed on trial from Tadcaster Albion of the Evo-Stik Division One North.
Darren Ferguson moved quickly to acquire the services of the highly rated forward who becomes the club’s tenth summer signing.
Beestin, from Leeds, is an attack minded player who had scored 4 goals in 3 games for Albion’s development side which is affiliated with the i2i Academy with whom he spent three years learning his trade under coaches Simon Collins and Mike Morton.
Alfie, who will wear the number 23 shirt for the 16/17, will be available for Saturday’s trip to Accrington Stanley.
Alfie could make his home debut when we host Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup Round 1 on Tuesday 9th August.
