England Return To Keepmoat Stadium

8 January 2013

England U19’s will begin 2013 on home soil as they face Denmark under 19’s on Tuesday 5 February, 7.30pm kick off, at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The game marks the first International fixture to be held at Keepmoat Stadium since Doncaster Rovers took over the management of the stadium and Doncaster Rovers are looking to work with all local partners to ensure the event is a success.

Chief Executive Gavin Baldwin said “We’re delighted to have been able to pro-actively secure an England game for the Keepmoat Stadium and are pleased to be welcoming the FA back to Doncaster.  We remain committed to ensuring Keepmoat Stadium is a multi-purpose facility that can be used by all and hope that Doncaster will come out to support our young England team.”

England u19’s Head Coach Noel Blake will be using the game as his first preparation ahead of the European Elite Qualifying Round matches in May.

The draw for the Elite Round was made in Switzerland on Wednesday and the Young Lions will face 'Auld Enemy' Scotland, host nation Belgium and Georgia in May.

Only one team from the four will progress to the Finals in Lithuania next July, so Blake knows the challenges ahead and will be looking to continue his work with the squad at St. George's Park ahead of those games.
