Forrester: "We're False"

28 November 2014

Midfielder keeps an eye on top six and anticipates push up the league in weeks to come.

Harry Forrester has labelled Doncaster Rovers’ league position “false” ahead of Saturday’s game against Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road.

The Rovers midfielder was a second half substitute in last week’s win over Rochdale and his introduction coincided with a fight back from Paul Dickov’s men which saw them run out 3-1 winners over a ten man Dale side that had taken the lead.

“On the back of a win, you want the games to come thick and fast and that win was needed considering how many games are coming up,” he said.

“In the dressing room, were looking to get back to back wins which we haven’t done often enough. String some of the right results together and you’re right up amongst it.

“We’re a couple of games in hand too, so our position is a little false.”

The personal emotion for Forrester – who has scored twice, been sent off as many times and missed a penalty recently against Sheffield United – has contributed to a season, to date, which he described as “a rollercoaster.”

“I’ve been on the bench the last couple of games which you don’t want but so long as the team keeps winning that’s all that matters,” he said.

“The competition is good and we thrive off that and if there isn’t that then the results can go against you. If there’s good competition then it usually means we’re doing well, the boys are winning and we grow in confidence.

“The boys that have come in have done exceptionally well and that takes a certain pressure off me.”
