Frickley Athletic are currently striving to raise £50,000 towards a new changing room and community building for its Westfield Lane ground.
The building, which will cost around £500,000 in total, forms part of the redevelopment of the former colliery site and will house community rooms as well as new facilities for Frickley Athletic and other local clubs using the new adjacent pitches.
It is anticipated that most of the cost will be met by grants but Frickley Athletic need to find a total of £50,000 as its contribution to the project.
Frickley Athletic has currently raised just over half that figure, with the total raised standing at £25,023.
The club is hoping that its impressive pre-season friendly programme, of which the game against Rovers 1st team squad is the jewel in the crown, will help boost the total further.
