Scottish defender Paul Quinn has, as expected, completed his free transfer to Doncaster Rovers on a 12 month contract.

The 27 year old said: “I’m delighted to finally get signed and settled, I’m happy to be here, it’s a good club and I’ve known it’s a good club having played against Doncaster.

“The facilities caught my eye when I came round a week or two ago and I made it quite clear that I wanted to come. We had to do a bit of work behind the scenes to finally tie the deal up.”

Quinn, who predominantly plays as a right back, perfectly fits the bill for manager Dean Saunders who has been keen to finalise a transfer following the departures of James Chambers, James O’Connor and Mustapha Dumbuya.

“I think that the management and players share the same ambition as me that they want to be the highest they can. Right now, we’re in a false situation and we want to be in the Championship where we should be, so we’re going to have to push on to get there,” said Quinn.

“I’ve come here and will get give everything I’ve got, that’s all I can do. As footballers you give it everything you’ve got and I’m no different.”

The Capital One First Round fixture against York City on Saturday will probably provide the Scot with his first taste of competitive action following a successful trial period. “I’ve had my fair share of scalps during my time so you can’t underestimate any team, they’re there on merit and we have to be focussed. We want to win the tie and get through but it’s certainly not going to be easy and if anyone thinks that then that’s the wrong attitude,” he said.
