Jones: No need to panic

1 September 2014

Rovers Captain Rob Jones has said he wishes he could play again on Tuesday to get over the disappointment of Saturday’s defeat to Oldham.

The centre back returned from injury to take the skipper’s armband but could not prevent his troops going down against the Latics.

“We'd like a game on Tuesday to put things right but we've got two weeks to put things right on the training ground,” said Jones.

“Its something we've got to learn from and move on from.”

Jones will take charge of his first ever development game when a Rovers XI take on Askern tomorrow evening.

“We could have played better and we could have had a better result but we get on with it,” he said.

“League 1 is a difficult league. In the year we won the league it was up and down but it’s early days at the moment.

“We've had a great month but couldn’t quite cap it off and we're in a good position at the moment but its where we are in March and April that counts.”
