Keegan Signs For More

25 July 2013

Doncaster Rovers are delighted to announce that Paul Keegan has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 29 year old has been an important part of the Rovers squad since his arrival from Irish side Bohemians in 2011 and has committed his future to the club for a further season.

Noted for his ability to break up play, the defensive midfielder further strengthens Rovers midfield for the upcoming Championship campaign. Born in Dublin, Keegan began his career as a youth team player at Leeds United, where he played alongside former Rovers midfielder

Martin Woods. However, Keegan failed to make an appearance for United and spent a spell on loan at Scunthorpe before returning to his native Ireland in 2005.

Upon his arrival back in Ireland, Keegan signed for Drogheda United, with whom he scored six goals - and moved to Bohemians in 2009. In a year with Bohs, Keegan scored six goals in sixty-six appearances in the League of Ireland Premier Division.

Keegan played his part in Rovers return to the Championship next season and has subsequently been rewarded with a deal which will see the Irishman remain in Doncaster until the summer of 2014.

Whilst in the League of Ireland Premier Division, Keegan helps Bohemians to back-to-back league titles; the first time in the club's 119-year history.
