Doncaster Rovers and Northern Ireland international Luke McCullough hopes he can command more starts.
Luke McCullough has challenged himself to step up to the plate ahead of the forthcoming League 1 season. The Northern Irishman made his international debut over the summer against World Cup opposition in Uruguay and Chile and now has his sights firmly set on the domestic scene.
“I want to play as many games as I can and establish myself in the team.
“If you get a full pre-season it does help you during the season to maintain your fitness so it’s a big part,” he said ahead of tonight’s pre-season friendly with Skrill Premier side Grimsby Town.
The former Manchester United trainee, still only 20 years of age, said he hopes to carry the knowledge of playing for his country in to his Rovers career.
“It was brilliant, I didn’t really expect it or to play both games. It was great experience against top teams and players who went to the World Cup and did well.”
