Main Arrives

30 July 2014

Striker Curtis Main joins Doncaster Rovers on a 3 year deal.

Curtis Main has signed for Doncaster Rovers on a three year contract.

The 22 year old striker has moved to the Keepmoat Stadium from Middlesbrough as part of the James Husband transfer which will see the defender move the other way to the Riverside Stadium.

Main’s arrival has signalled the Club’s intent to invest in younger players and the north-east native should prove to be a hit with the Doncaster Rovers fans.

Following the arrival of Nathan Tyson, Rovers manager Paul Dickov said he was “really pleased” with the capture of Main and has called on him to “make a name for himself” in South Yorkshire.

“He’s big, strong and quick. The one thing you’ll get off him is 110% every game and he gives us a different option,” said Dickov.

“There’s a lot of goals in him and he’s very hungry and very focussed and he’s the type of player we want to bring in.”

Main, who started his career with Darlington, moved to Tony Mowbray’s Boro in 2011 and went on to score five goals during his time on Teesside.

“We look at players and get to know them as people and Nathan (Tyson) and Curtis, along with Theo (Robinson), will be real assets for the division we’re going in to,” finished Dickov.

Rovers today confirmed the signing of full back Cedric Evina.
