Martis Leaves Rovers

21 February 2013

Doncaster Rovers can confirm that defender Shelton Martis has left the club by mutual consent.

Dutch defender Martis initially joined Rovers on loan from Premier League West Bromwich Albion in 2008 and became an instant hit with the fans. Injury cut his loan spell short in Doncaster and Martis returned to his parent club.

In January 2010 Sean O’Driscoll sealed his signature on a permanent basis on a three-and-a-half year deal.

Martis went on to make 70 appearances for Rovers scoring three goals along the way.

After only managing to make 12 starts this season the club and player have decided to part company by mutual consent.

We wish Shelton all the best for the future and thank him for his time with the club.
