Maxted Moves To Trinity

30 October 2012

Goalkeeper Jonathan Maxted has joined Gainsborough Trinity on a one-month loan deal.

Maxted had previously been loaned out to Goole Town, however he was recalled early from that spell after Neil Sullivan picked up an injury at Colchester United.

Regular Trininty keeper Jan Budtz returned to Denmark on Saturday for family reasons prompting manager Steve Housham to snap up Maxted on loan.

‘I rang Paul Wilson up who recommended Jonathan to me,’ said Housham

‘We’re glad to have him on board and hopefully he can do a job for us. He will go straight into the team against Boston and again on Saturday in our local derby. Unfortunately he is cup tied for our Trophy game but I’m just glad to have him on board.’

Jonathan spoke of his delight to be signing for Trinity giving him the chance to play regularly for the next month at least.

‘I’m happy to be going out on loan,’ he said,

‘It means I will get regular game time for the next month at least, training is good but being in a game situation is different.

‘Playing against grown men rather than youth players in another step up too so I’m really looking forward to it.’
