Nathan Tyson has put pen to paper to become Doncaster Rovers’ first signing of the summer.

The 32 year-old forward signed for Paul Dickov’s side on an initial one year contract following an impressive three week trial and the club hold the option to extend this for a further year.

Tyson, formerly of Derby County and Nottingham Forest, will be a familiar face to Doncaster Rovers supporters and has featured in all of Rovers’ pre season friendlies so far, most notably against Grimsby Town, where he scored a well executed goal within the opening 16 seconds.

Tyson began his career with Reading and scored his first goal for the club in their 2-1 victory over Derby County in the 2002-03 season.

While with the Royals, the striker represented the England Under 20 side and his debut was one to remember, scoring twice against Germany.

Tyson’s most successful spell arguably came during his time at Wycombe Wanderers in the 2004-05 season where he was top scorer for the club, recording 22 league goals.

After a five year spell at Championship side Forest, and a brief spell with Derby, Tyson signed for Blackpool in September 2013. During his time at Blackpool, Tyson encountered short loan spells with League One sides Fleetwood Town and Notts County.
