PREVIEW: DRFC v U's

30 October 2015

Saturday 31st October 2015 (3pm), Sky Bet League One, Keepmoat Stadium.

Darren Ferguson takes charge of his first home game in charge of Doncaster Rovers when the South Yorkshire side host Colchester United at Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday.

If the Scot is a big believer in omens, then they look good for him as Doncaster look to record their fifth straight victory over the Essex outfit.

Ferguson has thus far presided over three away games and gained three points while on the road and a win would – in all likelihood – take Rovers out of the drop zone and to within three points of the visitors.

For Tony Humes and United – who have conceded the most goals in the division – scoring against Doncaster for the first time in four games would be of note.

Rovers maintained their 100% win rate at Weston Homes Community Stadium when Kyle Bennett rifled Paul Dickov’s men to a 1-0 win in August 2014.

The return was fairly routine as relegation threatened United were swept aside 2-0; Enda Stevens notching on the stroke of half time before Nathan Tyson’s late penalty.

Rovers’ last home defeat to the U’s came on the final day of the ill fated ‘97/98 season in the fourth tier when the hosts bowed out of the Football League for the first time in their history.

TEAM NEWS: Doubts remain over the fitness of loanee striker Keshi Anderson, while question marks also hover over Curtis Main, Rob Jones and Oscar Gobern. Richard Chaplow will miss out while new loan signing Conor Grant could debut.
