Rovers perfect away run ends with a 3-0 defeat to League One high flyers Bristol City, as Harry Forrester see’s red.

It was a good start by Rovers and on 10 minutes Harry Forrester looked to be brought down in the box. However the referee cautioned the midfielder for simulation and from that moment things went bad for Dickov’s side.

On 12 minutes a free kick was poorly dealt with by the Rovers defence and a goalmouth scramble eventually resulted in Wilbraham tapping in for his fifth of the season. Captain Rob Jones then had to be replaced by McCombe as things got worse for Rovers.

Then a horror moment for Cedric Evina who froze on the goal line, led to The Robins doubling their lead through Mark Little.

Rovers saw plenty of the ball in the first half and two bad defensive moments cost them.

Dickov attempted to rescue a point for his side by replacing Paul Keegan with Nathan Tyson at the break.

However before the change had a chance to have an effect on the game, Harry Forrester saw red for a second bookable offence. This time there was no argument, as he kicked the ball away in frustration. The sending off left Rovers having to play 35 minutes against eleven men and seemed to end any hope of a comeback.

Substitute Tyson found the back of the Bristol net, but the linesmen, who flagged the centre forward for offside, quickly ended Rovers cheers.

On 70 minutes Bristol came to life once more and started to test Jed Steer’s goal. First Kieran Agard, looking for his first goal for The Robins, had a clearance deflect off of him, which forced Steer to make a save.

Then Derrick Williams headed wide from six yards, which should have at least tested the Rovers keeper. Eventually The Robins did get a third goal; Agard saw his effort deflect low in the corner, which wrapped the match up for Steve Cotterill’s side.

Chances continued to come for the home side, but the referee blew to an end, what was an afternoon to forget for Rovers.
