Ross arrives at the club after seeing out his contract at Premier League side Chelsea and has signed a one-year deal.

Rovers had been without a first choice ‘keeper, after both Neil Sullivan and Gary Woods left the club during the closed season.

After progressing through the youth set up at Middlesbrough, in 2002 Ross signed his first professional contract at the age of seventeen.

As a young professional Ross enjoyed loan spells at various club including Bradford City, Barnsley and Cardiff City.

After long serving goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer left ‘Boro in 2011, Ross fought his way into the first team at the Riverside Stadium. Ross made 27 appearances for Gareth Southgate’s ‘Boro before leaving the north east to sign for Chelsea.

During his time at Chelsea, Ross represented the Blues in both the UEFA Champions League and Premier League.

After the expiration of his contract with Chelsea, Ross left Stamford Bridge in search of regular first team football.

We anticipate that Ross will be available for selection for the first game of he season against Blackpool on Saturday.

Ross will wear the number 1 shirt during his time at the club.
