Keeper joins Rovers as cover
Rovers have brought in experienced young goalkeeper Sam Johnstone on a four week loan as extra cover from Manchester United. This is subject to Football League approval.
The Preston born keeper was between the posts when United lifted the FA Youth Cup in 2011 and has since proved himself at league level during three loan spells in the lower divisions.
Following stints with Oldham Athletic and Scunthorpe United, he ended the 2012/2013 campaign at Walsall and was a key figure as the Saddlers were unlucky not to reach the League One play-offs.
