Rovers youngsters to take centre stage

Watch the next generation as they take on Morecambe in the FA Youth Cup at Keepmoat Stadium on Monday

With Rovers due to travel to Weston Super Mare in the FA Cup Round One, Rovers under 18's get their cup campaign underway against Morcambe in the FA Youth Cup.

The game will take place on the main pitch at Keepmoat Stadium on Monday 3rd November, 7pm kick off.

With first team squad members in attendance to support the next generation, Rovers youngsters will be keen to impress their seniors and progress to the next round, as they get a taste of what it is like to play on the big stage.

Top goal scorer Jack McKay will feature for Paul Stancliffe's side as he look's to continue his good run of form and with first team contracts up for grabs, the young boys will be hopeful of a good performance.

Rovers Youth Team have already defeated the Shrimps once this season as they knocked them out of the first round of the Youth Alliance Cup back in August, and Paul Stancliffe will be hoping for a similar performance on Monday.

"It's a great opportunity for our players," said Stancliffe.

"To play on the main pitch in front of a crowd is great experience and will give them a taste of first team life. It provides a good base for them to build on in the future.

"Most importantly we want to win and advance to the next round."

Rovers U18's got as far as the third round of the FA Youth Cup last year where they were defeated by Manchester City.

Tickets are on general sale and are priced at £3 per adult and £1 per concession (U16's and over 60's).

Please note- only the West Stand will be open for this fixture.
