Scottish Success for Rovers Academy

16 April 2015

Youngsters from the Doncaster Rovers Academy recently visited Scotland on their annual trip North of the border.

Paul Wilson, Academy Manager, headed up a 50 strong party of players from the U12’s, U13’s and U14’s teams, as well as coaches and back room staff that visited SPL side St. Mirren.

Wilson said: “I’d like to thank St. Mirren who donated 50 tickets to the academy to watch St Mirren v Celtic and St Mirren v Ross County while we were there.

“It’s good for the boys to be taken to a slightly different environment and bond together.

“While the focus of the trip is of course the football element the social side is important.

“It was nice to meet up with some old Rovers faces too in Martin Woods and Paul Quinn who are with Ross County at the moment.”

All age groups played against their St Mirren counterparts, as well as Dundee United for the U12’s and U14’s.

In total Rovers played 5 games, won 3, drew 1 and lost 1.
