Shaun Lockwood departs

27 November 2014

Doncaster Rovers can confirm that Communications Manager, Shaun Lockwood, has departed the club.

Shaun, who has been with the club since 2008, is moving out of the football industry in order to spend more time with his young family.

Chief Executive, Gavin Baldwin said “Shaun has helped steer some major projects during his time here that have helped Doncaster Rovers be seen as best practice with their approach to fan engagement, family excellence and player visits to schools.”

“During his time at the club, Doncaster Rovers have become 1 of only 7 clubs throughout the Football League to win the Family Excellence Award every year, and the club have twice been shortlisted for a Football League Award including Best Family Club in 2013 and Best Marketing Campaign for the Rovers Roadshow in 2011.

As the club advertise for a new Communications and Marketing Manager, stepping into Shaun’s shoes in the interim period will be Ryan Murrant, formerly of Southend United and Crawley Town.

On departing the club, Shaun said “It has been a difficult decision to leave Doncaster Rovers, as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club.  There are some great people here, staff, fans and players alike who really understand what the club is about.  There is a clear strategy to grow the club and overtime I’m sure this will be successful and help deliver the success on the pitch that the fans deserve.  In Ryan we have an excellent interim appointment who is an expert in fan engagement and I hope he enjoys his time at the club as much as I have.”
