What The Papers Say 02/09/14

2 September 2014

A scan through of regional and national news sources who reported on Saturday's defeat at home.

Sheffield Star - "Manager Paul Dickov cut a frustrated figure as he spoke of his side’s flat performance against Oldham. Goals from Jonson Clarke-Harris in the fourth minute and a Jonathan Forte 59th minute penalty killed off Doncaster at the Keepmoat on Saturday afternoon."

SkySports -  "Doncaster's dismal home form continued as Oldham chalked up their first win of the season with a 2-0 success. It was a disappointing afternoon for Rovers boss Paul Dickov against his former club, but victory was no more than the Latics deserved. Former Doncaster loanee Jonathan Forte wrapped up the points for Oldham when he sent Jed Steer the wrong way from the penalty spot in the 59th minute after Luke McCullough had been harshly-judged to have fouled Danny Philliskirk."

Doncaster Free Press -  "Paul Dickov says he will admit some of the responsibility for not freshening the team up after Rovers slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Oldham. Just one change was made to the side which started against Watford in last week’s Capital One Cup victory for the welcoming of Oldham as young defender Liam Wakefield made way for captain Rob Jones."

MEN - "Jonson Clarke-Harris set the Latics on their way to correcting that run, as he finished well from close range four minutes in. Oldham had the best of the match from then on, and deserved to go two up when Luke McCullough gave away a penalty and Jonathan Forte converted."

AND

Doncaster Rovers official website - "It was anything but home comforts for Rovers once again as they lost 2-0 to Oldham Athletic, at the Keemoat Stadium."
