WE DESERVED TO WIN - WELLENS
Doncaster Rovers' superb performance against Cardiff City at the Keepmoat Stadium earned further plaudits from pundits this past weekend.
The Rovers were stunned by a late equaliser from former Rovers loan striker Ross McCormack, however the majority of the game saw the home side dominate the team that reached the FA Cup Final last May.
Exclusive interview with Richie Wellens following the draw against Cardiff at the Keepmoat Stadium.
"I thought we played well and I thought that we deserved to win the game," midfielder Richie Wellens told DoncasterRoversFC.co.uk.
"We were a bit gutted at the end with a bad goal to give away. We spoke about their four across the midfield during the week, and we agreed that theirs was probably one of the best in the division. Joe Ledley, there's talk about him going for about £3 million, so for our three to do better that their four - despite the fact that they did well also - I felt that we did really well."
"To be honest, I would have rather played bad and won the game," admitted Wellens.
"We can take positives from it and we got another point, but we are gutted that we gave a poor goal away three minutes from the end."
