Doncaster Rovers midfielder John Spicer and defender James Chambers have both been named in the Coca-Cola Championship Team of the Week, compiled by The Press Association, following Rovers' superb 3-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle at Home Park last weekend.
The win mathematically guaranteed Doncaster Rovers their place in next season's Coca-Cola Championship.
Spicer's workrate throughout the victory over Plymouth was outstanding and he capped off his performance with the game's opening goal. The former Burnley man ran onto Paul Heffernan's drive across the penalty box and fired the ball into the net with an unstoppable blast. The goal was Spicer's first in a Doncaster Rovers shirt.
James Chambers has excelled at both full back positions this term, however he has been filling in for the absence of James O'Connor at right back as of late and put in another eye-catching performance. The defender's pace and defensive solidarity was brilliant and Plymouth continued to come at Rovers and Chambers also grabbed an assist to his name, with his hard work on the right leading into a pass for Paul Heffernan, who struck the game's third goal.
Congratulations to both players on a superb performance.
