WOODS UNDERGOES DOUBLE HERNIA OP
Rovers midfielder Martin Woods will start ball work with the rest of the side later, after the 23-year old underwent a double hernia operation on Tuesday (30th June).
The Scot, who was instrumental in Doncaster Rovers' survival in the Coca-Cola Championship last term, is recovering from the surgery; however the operation does mean that he will not be starting pre-season training in full with the rest of the players.
The Rovers report back for training on Monday morning (6th July), two days before the first pre-season fixture, which takes place against Armthorpe Welfare at the Welfare Ground on Wednesday 8th July (19:00 KO).
"He (Martin Woods) went in for the double hernia operation yesterday," confirmed Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll at Rovers' training ground at Cantley Park on Wednesday.
"He'll hopefully be able to run when the pre-season starts, but he will be a couple of weeks later than the rest of the squad in joining in full training."
