Coming back from a goal down for the second consecutive league game to earn a point, Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll was delighted with his side's organisation against Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors took the lead in the first half through former Rovers loan signing Chris Brown, before Adam Lockwood poked home the equaliser on the 80th minute to give Rovers a share of the spoils.

The game also saw the debut of new loan signing Jason Shackell. The 25 year-old centre-half arrived at the Keepmoat Stadium on Friday on a one-month loan deal.

"Preston are a good side - but we knew that going into it," said Sean O'Driscoll following the game.

"They made it difficult for us in the first half but, apart from the goal, I thought that we were really organised and in the second half, we dominated the play. We've got one and, I suppose, a little disappointed that we didn't come away with three. I've said before that points in this division are precious and we have got a point against a very good Preston team."

On Jason Shackell's debut, the Rovers boss praised the loan defender's attitude in being thrown into the occasion at very short notice.

"It's difficult being thrown in at the last minute. As it is with loan players, you sometimes only get them because the loaning team wants them to go out and play. It's not ideal, but he got better as the game went on, which is what you would expect. Wolves bought him for half a million quid, so he's no mug. He gives us a lot of balance on the left hand side. We went into the game with two injury doubts, or three actually, with Byron (Webster) out with his ankle and Sam (Hird) and Adam (Lockwood) both carrying knocks. We've got too many games coming up to try and risk it, so it was an opportunity for us to bring an experienced player in."

"He'll (Shackell) be disappointed with the goal and he's got to toughen up, I suppose. But as the half progressed and in the second half, he did very well."
