STOCK: FANS WERE FANTASTIC

Posted on: Wed 17 Feb 2010

Doncaster Rovers skipper Brian Stock has credited the outstanding support of the Doncaster Rovers supporters following the 2-0 victory at Hillsborough over Sheffield Wednesday.

The midfielder looked back to his very best against the Owls, with the Welsh international very much looking the side's playmaker - and Stock believes that it is now the fans' support  will prove important as Rovers continue their progression up the table.

"We're delighted this evening," Stock told Rovers Player after the game.

"We came into it off the back of a great win against Forest and I felt that we put on a good performance today. I think we have to thank Neil Sullivan for keeping us in the game because they had a couple of great chances. Thankfully, we went a goal ahead and I thought that the football we played tonight was brilliant."

"It's nice to get on the ball and sometimes in this league it's not always going to be the pretty football that we want to play. I thought that we mixed it up very well on Saturday and we did it again tonight. We got on the ball a lot more and it was nice to be involved.

"The fans were fantastic tonight and the fact that they managed to almost fill the stand this evening was brilliant and it's going to be their support which is crucial for us pushing on for the rest of the season."
