Doncaster Rovers midfielder James Coppinger was left disappointed with the Rovers' performance in the opening ten minutes against Leicester City on Tuesday evening, which saw Doncaster concede the game's only goal.
However he admits that Rovers were much improved in the second half and has appealed to the supporters to get behind the team on Saturday as Crystal Palace visit the Keepmoat.
"As far as the second half performance is concerned, we probably deserved something from the game," Coppinger exclusively told RoversPlayer.
"In the first ten or fifteen minutes, I thought that we were poor - as we were on Saturday, which is disappointing because we spoke about that during the week. When you go down a goal, especially in this league with the way that we play, teams bank up and make it difficult for us to play. Leicester did that and they are good at it; that is what they have done all season. In the second half, we passed the ball around better, we created more chances and I thought that the goal was going to come to be honest. It wasn't to be and we are disappointed, however we now look forward to the next game."
"When you get beat, it's good to have a game within a short space of time so that you can put things right. That's what we'll be trying to do on Saturday and hopefully the fans stick with us and get behind us, because we need that right now."
