HAIRY DAYS FOR ROVERS

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010

This March the Doncaster Rovers team, managers and staff will be putting down the razors and going au naturale for charity. The team have got together in support of the NSPCC and Right to Play charities and will be holding a sponsored beard growth throughout the month of March, in order to raise as much money as possible. Harringtons of Bawtry will be performing the 'shave off' at the end of the month.

The NSPCC and Right to Play are two charities that the team regularly support. Sean O'Driscoll, manager of Doncaster Rovers commented:

"We are thrilled to be doing this for such worthwhile charities; we hope we can raise a large sum of money that will be used to benefit the lives of many children. We've got our own sweepstake going for the hairiest member of the team, all proceeds of which will be donated."

Claire Reading, NSPCC community fundraising manager in Doncaster said:

"Doncaster Rovers are brilliant supporters of the NSPCC and this hairy challenge is a great way for the players to get involved. I've no doubt they'll turn a few heads on the pitch and in the stands, which will help to remind people that every donation makes a difference. Thank you."

The team hope to reach a target of £6,000 and are asking for support from the local community and their fan base. All money raised will be split evenly between both charities.
