Doncaster Rovers Football Club will hold a minute's silence for Rifleman Liam Maughan, prior to kickoff of the Championship clash against Derby County on Saturday afternoon.
Doncaster Rifleman Maughan, of the 3rd Battalion The Rifles, was tragically killed in action whilst serving in Afghanistan protecting members of his platoon, aged just eighteen.
A statement released by Rifleman Maughan's family said: "Liam was a tall, handsome six-footer, with looks to melt the heart of any girl and make men envious, but he was also a son and a brother, a fiancé and a father to his son who he will now never meet."
Everybody at Doncaster Rovers' thoughts are with Liam Maughan's family and friends at this sad and difficult time - and Doncaster Rovers would like to pay their respects to one of this country's bravest heroes.
