Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll has praised Saturday's opponents Sheffield United for the way that they have adapted to an unfortunately long list of injuries.
The Blades currently have the likes of James Harper, Gary Naysmith, Ched Evans, Jamie Ward, Kyle Bartley, Glen Little and Toni Kallio all out of action through injury, whilst - for the South Yorkshire derby against Doncaster Rovers - Chris Morgan will be missing through suspension and goalkeeper Steve Simonsen thrown in immediately, after Mark Bunn was recalled by parent club Blackburn Rovers.
"I think that they are showing how difficult it is to drop in loan players and one of the first reports we got back from the game last Tuesday was that the first six players on the Sheffield United team sheet were loan players," Sean told RoversPlayer.
"I think you get quirky seasons and I think that Burnley went up last year with only sixteen players. These are the things that you can't control and to lose three players in one game is incredible. To be fair to Sheffield United, I think that they have coped with it really well. I think that they have got some good professionals both on and off the pitch and I think somebody else said to me that they have had twenty players make their debut. To still be three points outside the Play-Offs, I think that they deserve a bit of credit. Sheffield United supporters are a difficult lot to please, but from a football point-of-view, I think that they have done well."
