MESSAGE FROM SOUTH YORKSHIRE POLICE

Posted on: Fri 26 Mar 2010

Message from Superintendent David Hartley, Barnsley District, South Yorkshire Police

As the match commander for the forthcoming fixture I am very much looking forward to welcoming Doncaster Rovers and their supporters to Barnsley and trust you will all have a safe and enjoyable fixture here at Oakwell on Saturday 27th March 2010.

On the day there will be some limited facilities for refreshment available at the Metrodome Leisure Centre and inside the ground, but it is unlikely that these will able to accommodate everyone.

In the interests of a trouble free and enjoyable fixture, could I ask that Doncaster Rovers supporters wishing to take refreshment before attending the fixture, do so before travelling into Barnsley. This will help avoid disappointment with the limited facilities available and help ensure that there are no problems in Barnsley town centre from the tiny minority of trouble causers.

With your support and cooperation I am sure we can all enjoy another great local derby.

Thank you in anticipation

David Hartley
Superintendent
