Doncaster Rovers midfielder James Coppinger has made the Coca-Cola Championship Team of the Week following his performance and goal against Barnsley in last weekend's 1-0 South Yorkshire derby victory.
Coppinger had missed the week's training ahead of the encounter at Oakwell with a virus which knocked him for six, resulting in the former Newcastle United man missing the reunion with his former employers at the Keepmoat Stadium last Tuesday - however he returned with devastating effect on Saturday against The Tykes.
Coppinger's individual performance earned him praise from the national press in attendance, which was capped with the match winning goal; an impressive strike from just inside the penalty area following a well-worked short corner.
