O'DRISCOLL: WE DIDN'T PERFORM

Posted on: Sat 03 Apr 2010

Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll was left frustrated with his side's performance in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Plymouth Argyle - a performance which the Rovers boss described as lacklustre.

The Rovers manager was far from happy in his post-match press conference, in which he revealed his disappointment.

"They (the Rovers players) didn't deserve anything," O'Driscoll frankly told RoversPlayer.

"We got what we deserved; we plugged away but we didn't do enough. Plymouth Argyle did what we expected them to do and I thought that we were the side that were unpredictable. We've performed really well as of late but we didn't turn up today."

Rovers had cases for a penalty in both halves; however O'Driscoll refused to use the denial of a penalty as an excuse for failing to perform on the day.

"The second case was a penalty. You look at the DVD and that is a hard one to explain. The first one; I don't know. You're the home side and it's not given - so you can throw your hands up and moan about it, but it was 50/50. The second one, we've had the ability to look back at it, so we're not looking through tinted glasses and I can't see why it hasn't been given. However, that is not an excuse for not performing in what was a massive game for us."

"There were no positives for me. We started poorly and even the warm up was poor. We didn't do all of the things that we needed to do. We've come to the stage in the season where, if you don't want to do them now, then we're wasting our time."
