Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll was left pleased that his side emerged from Saturday's clash against Ipswich Town at Portman Road with a point, after the previous three games saw Rovers gain no points despite more rounded performances.
Rovers came from a goal behind to condemn Ipswich Town to their record-breaking 19th draw of the season, after Dean Shiels was felled in the box by Shane O'Connor. Shiels himself took the spot kick, which he calmly slotted to the left of Brian Murphy in the Town goal. Connor Wickham grabbed the opener 11 minutes earlier.
"Performance-wise, I didn't think we were as good as we were in the last three games; but we lost them. So, to come away with a point against Ipswich is pleasing," said O'Driscoll after the game.
"Some aspects of our play, I thought, were very good, whilst other things I felt we could do better. We adjusted things a couple of times because they changed things to get a break and I felt that our reactions were good when we went a goal behind. Overall, I felt that we deserved something out of the game and I don't think that anybody would begrudge us that."
"It's difficult coming to the end of the season; you want to maintain certain things and we have said to the players that we felt that we have done that over the last three or four games. We've maintained a level of performance and a level of desire - and a level of enthusiasm that has unfortunately not got us any points; but today was a good point for us going forward with two games left to go. We have a big local derby next weekend and an away trip to Swansea, where you think they may need something from the game to cement their Play-Off place. They are both big games for us."
