Sean O'Driscoll admitted he felt he had aged following Doncaster Rovers 4-3 victory over Scunthorpe United at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Rovers boss described some of the events in the game as 'comical' in his assessment of the encounter, however he praised his sides' effort in what has been an incredible season for Doncaster Rovers after the final home game of the campaign.
"I think that both teams would get relegated if they played like that every week," O'Driscoll frankly told the Rovers Official Website.
"Just because it was the last home game of the season, you can't dismiss some of the things that went on - it was comical at times! One minute, you're disappointed - the next minute you're saying 'okay, it's the last home game of the season'. But you set standards; some of our attacking play was excellent but some of our defending was as poor as we have seen all season. I think you could probably say the same about them; some of their attacking play was good and some of their defending was poor. But, as I said, we couldn't afford to play like that in this division or else we wouldn't be in the division long."
"I think I've aged again!" Sean joked.
"It was an end of season game with nothing to play on and I'm frustrated as anything - but there you go. But you have to take the whole season as a whole and I think that the players have been magnificent. They have bounced back from everything and, even today, they did the same when things weren't going their way. They don't need me telling them that some of the things they were doing weren't right - but they plugged away and they came away with a victory. I suppose that is the be-all and end-all."
