O'DRISCOLL: WE DESERVED A POINT

Posted on: Sun 02 May 2010

Doncaster Rovers finished the season at Swansea City on Sunday afternoon with a point; taking the Rovers' tally for the season to 60 in what has been an incredible campaign.

The Rovers finish the season in 12th place - two places higher than last season's 14th-placed finish - and manager Sean O'Driscoll was left pleased with his side's performance against an impressive Swansea City side that were pushing for a Play-Off place.

"We worked all week for it," said Sean following the final whistle.

"I thought that it was a game where, in some senses not that there was little on it, because you can't treat any game lightly in this division, but Swansea City's focus was greater than ours because they had more on it."

"We slowly built the week up and probably prepared as well as we have all season. We came up with Swansea City, so we know what they are all about and they are a terrific side who move the ball really well."

"We couldn't come here unprepared, so we did a lot of work and that helped us. We could have been better with the ball but both goalkeepers had only one save to make. In some senses, we cancelled each other out."

"There was a lot of organisation and lots of discipline and we always tried to play. It wasn't good enough but we always try to play. We have come off of pitches feeling that we haven't got what we deserved, but I felt that we deserved a point."
