Doncaster Rovers' newest recruit, teenage striker Ryan Mason - who joined Rovers from Tottenham Hotspur on Friday, was among the names on the team-sheet Saturday afternoon; as Rovers came from behind to draw 1-1 with Bristol City at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Linking up with his new team-mates on Friday morning, Mason slipped effortlessly into Rovers' stylish passing-style of play and admits that the prospect of playing for Doncaster Rovers more under Sean O'Driscoll is something that he is looking forward to.
"I was hoping to get out on loan," revealed Mason to RoversPlayer.
"I wanted to try and make the step up from last year; League One to The Championship and when I got the call from Tim Sherwood, who said that Doncaster were interested, I was buzzing and couldn't wait to get up here. I can't wait to get stuck into it and it was good to get out there and get some minutes under my belt."
"To be honest, I didn't expect to start because the lads had a good result last weekend against Preston. I was surprised but raring to go and ready for the game. For us younger lads at Spurs, it's vital to get out on loan - preferably in The Championship and get as much football as we can. For me to come up to Doncaster, I felt that it would suit the way that I play and I was really excited about it."
