TREATMENT TABLE LATEST
Some of the Doncaster Rovers players continue to put in the extra hours at Cantley Park, after reporting in last week for some 'pre' pre-season training. In addition to some players undergoing some light conditioning, the injured Rovers players continue their rehabilitation in a bid to prepare for the start of pre-season training.
DoncasterRoversFC.co.uk checked into the treatment table at Cantley Park, to get the latest on players' recovery from head physio, John Dickens.
"Unfortunately, we had quite a lot of injuries towards the end of last season - and several of those injuries required surgery.

Brian Stock is recovering from his back operation and is doing well. He is now started his running programme and is well on course for starting pre-season with the rest of the boys. The operation should now have settled Brian's back down and have it back to normal and be the end of the trouble for him. Last season was hard for him and he had to deal with it for a lot of the season. He kept going and credit to him; he worked very hard and stuck to it. Hopefully this is all now behind him and he can have a normal season next year.

James O'Connor had an ankle operation towards the end of last year and has recovered from that now. He is ready to start pre-season with the rest of the boys.

The same goes for James Coppinger, who suffered another ankle injury. That has settled down now and he is ready to start pre-season as well. Copps worked really hard on his ankle problem and recovered well. He was close to playing again before the end of the last season - but he wasn't quite ready. We didn't want to risk him and that has paid off, because he is now fully ready to start pre-season training. With some players, you do find that they recover better than others and Copps seems to be one of those players where he does recover well - however he does work hard at his rehabilitation as well and, if you do that, you do stand a better chance of recovering well.

Adam Lockwood is another player who suffered from an ankle injury at the end of the season. Like Copps, he has also worked hard and is ready to start pre-season training. Adam took a blow to the ankle, which gave him some nasty bone bruising. However, he also damaged some ankle ligaments and one of the tendons. Luckily, that didn't require surgery and he has recovered well.

Mark Wilson suffered a calf tear against Plymouth Argyle. He was unsuccessful in coming back from that before the end of the season, however he is recovering well now and he will have no problem in joining in with the team for pre-season training. Mark, like all of these players, has worked really hard with his recovery.

Sean McDaid is joining in with the rest of the players now. He is still working hard to strengthen his thigh but it is now strong enough for him to join in with the rest of the boys. He'll be participating in pre-season training. Sean has done brilliantly with his recovery and it has been unfortunate for him; recovering from one injury, gets back into full training and then suffers another injury. It was one nasty injury on top of another nasty injury and that has kept him out for the best part of a year. His rehab - he has worked so hard to get back and that hard work is coming into fruition now, because he is ready to start pre-season training. His attitude has been first class. Sean's kept his head down, he's worked hard and never been a problem - full credit to him and, because of that, he will come back stronger.

Matthew Mills had a knee operation towards the end of last season. He's recovered well from what was minor surgery and he is ready to start pre-season training with the rest of the players. It related to his knee injury that he had whilst he was on loan with us and it was a slight reoccurrence which needed slight intervention around the cartilage - but that is no problem now and he is back and functioning fine.

Paul Heffernan played his last couple of games last season with an irritating knee injury. He had some minor cartilage surgery but he is back in full training with the rest of the boys now.

Stuart Elliott is still recovering from ankle surgery. He has started his running programme now and he will just about be ready to start pre-season training with team, however it is going to be a bit tight for Stuart. Nevertheless, he is recovering very well.

Finally, Steve Brooker has also undergone ankle surgery. He has recovered from that really well and started his running programme; however he has been set back with a little Achilles tendonitis. That is settling down at the moment and once it's settled down fully, he'll resume that. However, the surgery that he has undergone has been successful and it's just a case of sorting out a couple of niggling problems afterwards.
Come 6th July when the team reports in for the start of pre-season training, we are hopeful of having a fully fit squad. Stuart Elliott and Steve Brooker may be a little bit behind them, but certainly not too far behind them."
