Centre-back Byron Webster signed a two-year deal with Doncaster Rovers in August 2009.
The 22 year-old defender had impressed the Rovers management and fans alike with his assured performances during a trial that has seen him turn out in the red and white hoops against Grimsby Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers in pre-season.
Leeds-born Webster started his career at York City, after spending a spell as a youth team player at hometown club Leeds United. Whilst at Bootham Crescent, now known as the KitKat Crescent, Webster worked with Doncaster Rovers youth team coach Paul Stancliffe and made his debut in 2004 against Burton Albion. The 6'5'' defender scored his first Minstermen goal in a 2-2 draw against Stevenage Borough in 2005.
Signing his first professional deal in 2006, Byron switched the nearby Harrogate Town in 2007 before making a huge switch to the Czech Republic's Gambrinus liga - the Czech first division - to play for FK SIAD Most. Despite impressing to the point of winning a new two-year deal, Webster had to endure relegation with Most to the Czech second division.
Recently, Motherwell offered Webster a trial with the Scottish side failing to reach an agreement. Prior to joining Doncaster Rovers on trial, Webster also turned out for League Two Bury on trial - however Webster will now remain at Doncaster Rovers.
