Doncaster Rovers signed defender George Friend in June 2010 following his release from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with whom he played in the Premier League during the 2009/10 season.
A versatile player, Friend is comfortable playing on the left hand side of both defence and midfield, whilst he is also comfortable as a central defender or midfielder if called upon.
Friend's poise and composure on the ball often leave the opposition's attacking players tackling air, whilst the young defender also possesses great vision and passing ability.
A huge fan's favourite at Exeter City, where he progressed through the youth ranks between 2005 and 2008, Friend will be looking to make the left-back slot his own in the 2010/11 season - his first for Doncaster Rovers.
