Imposing central defender Shelton Martis rejoined Doncaster Rovers from West Bromwich Albion on a three-and-a-half year deal in January 2010.
The Netherlands Antilles defender had spent a previous spell on loan with Doncaster Rovers during the 2008/09 season, impressing the management with his no-nonsense style of defending.
A student of the game, Martis developed as a player whilst admiring the famous style of Dutch football, playing for Excelsior Rotterdam and PSV Eindhoven before moving to England in 2005.
Spells at Darlington and Hibernian were followed by his move to West Bromwich Albion; with whom he enjoyed appearances in the Premier League under former Hibernian boss Tony Mowbray.
