COMMUNITY CERTIFICATES

Posted on: Sun 09 Dec 2007

In addition to running a whole host of events for the children of Doncaster, the Rovers in the Community team are also an accredited centre for a series of sporting qualifications.

On Wednesday 18th July, Rovers in the Community awarded 16 children - aged 12-13 years - a Young Sports Leader certificate.

The Sports Leader certificates are recognised qualifications throughout the sporting world and are the first steps to gaining future sport coaching qualifications. The Sports Leader awards are split into three categories, with the Young Sports Leader one of the three.

The 16 children, all from The Armthorpe School, were presented with their certificates by the Rovers in the Community team on the Keepmoat Stadium's 5-a-side pitches near the Athletics Stadium, before being put through their tracks with the team in a series of coaching drills.
