Doncaster Rovers Sports and Education Foundation hosted their annual 'Lets Kick Racism out of Football' event at the Keepmoat Stadium's Restaurant located in the East Stand on Thursday afternoon (23rd October).
The event, attended by over 100 children, was organised in partnership with Doncaster Children's Fund. Children from Our Lady Mount Carmel, Coppice School, Bentley High Street, Toll Bar and Armthorpe Tranmoor were involved in a whole host of activities throughout the day.
Production company 'Primary Colours' engaged the children in two workshops. The first was named 'The Journey' and the second was 'The Adventures of Ottobah Cugoanao'. Both productions highlighted the history of racism through the years and this gave the children a better understanding of why there is no place for racism in any part of society.
The children were then treated to lunch before the highlight of the afternoon. The final part of the day saw the entire Doncaster Rovers playing squad and management attend, where they were involved in a question and answer session before signing posters and various other items in an autograph session.
Donny Dog was also on hand to meet and greet the children and to see them off at the end of the day back to their schools.
The event was a huge success, with the Community team now planning their next big event, which is our Anti-Bullying campaign.
